MHAM Submission - Jaylah Lawson

polar by Jaylah Lawson

there are two sides to every coin
and like a dime was she
split in half you’d find two girls
as different as could be

on one side there roamed “happy”
who’d praise dance with the sun
a carefree spirit, wild and free
she searched for endless fun

hiding with the moon you’ll find
her twin “gloom” cowered low
she feared the world would leave her lost
and ice-cold like the snow

impossible for them to live
one without her other
when nobody else was there
they cared for one another
